ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 97, NorthEast United FC vs FC Goa
FC Goa now sit at the second spot in the ISL table.
NorthEast United FC came back from behind against FC Goa to rescue a crucial point on the auspicious occasion of Bihu in front of their home fans. It was an open game with few and fair chances on both ends, but a lack of finishing. Interestingly, this was the eleventh draw between the two sides, the highest ever played between any teams in the Indian Super League (ISL). FC Goa dominated the first half with better chances and even hit the woodwork once.
NorthEast United came out all guns blazing in the second half and kept on picking up the pressure on the visitors. But, then FC Goa broke the ice against the run of play with Mohammad Yasir scoring the opener. Following the opening goals, NorthEast United switched themselves on and scored the equaliser when Alaeddine Ajaraie split FC Goa’s backline into two halves and set up Jithin to make it 1-1.
A brief look at the points table
Mohun Bagan lead the pack with 35 points in 15 games. FC Goa have jumped up to the second position with 27 points while Bengaluru FC have dropped down to third with as many points. Jamshedpur FC have been relegated to the fourth position with 27 and NorthEast United FC remain intact at the fifth spot with 24 points in 16 games. Mumbai City FC complete the top six with 23 points in 15 games.
Odisha FC continue to hold the seventh spot and have 22 points. Kerala Blasters have not moved from the eighth position and have 20 points. Punjab FC hold the ninth place with 19 points. Chennaiyin FC are still positioned tenth with 16 points. East Bengal are still positioned eleventh with 13 points to their name. Mohammedan SC and Hyderabad FC have retained the twelfth and thirteenth positions respectively.
