Thangboi Singto part ways with Hyderabad FC: ISL

Thangboi Singto was the first head coach to win an ISL match with an all-Indian squad.
Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto have mutually decided to part ways, effective immediately. Thangboi Singto has been a part of Indian football since He has previously worked at clubs like Shillong Lajong, Odisha FC, and Kerala Blasters, showcasing his expertise and dedication to Indian football
Thangboi Singto who took over the reins from Manolo Marquez, has been an integral part of Hyderabad FC‘s journey since 2020. Having served previously as the Sporting Director he played a crucial role in the club’s development, especially at the grassroots level.
In 2023 he took charge as the Head Coach of Hyderabad FC with Connor Nestor and Shameel Chembakath as the assistant coaches. He continued as the head coach for the ISL season 2024-25 making him one of the only 2 Indian Head Coaches of the season.
Earlier Hyderabad FC gave a club statement that stated that.
Indian Super League (ISL) club, Hyderabad FC and its Head Coach, Mr Thangboi Singto have mutually decided to part ways with immediate effect. Mr Singto had been associated with the club for close to half a decade. He was appointed as the Head Coach in July 2023 after having served as the Assistant Coach and Technical Director (Youth) since 2020.
Hyderabad FC thanks Mr Singto for his dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the club and wishes him the very best for his future endeavours.
Assistant Coach Shameel Chembakath will assume the role of interim coach till the club makes further announcements.
Thangboi Singto guided the team through 36 matches across various competitions and will always be remembered for leading Hyderabad FC to a historic victory with an all-Indian squad against Chennaiyin FC last season.
In the meantime, assistant coach Shameel Chembakath will take charge of the team and serve as the team’s interim coach until further announcements are made by the club.
Hyderabad FC will look for options and will target some potential replacements soon.
