These shot-stoppers are highly rated in the ISL.

Goalkeepers are often the most underrated players on a football team given their restricted movement area between the sticks and inside the box. ISL has seen the rise of some great goalkeepers who have become an asset for their teams.

In the history of the Ballon d’Or, only Soviet goalkeeping legend, Lev Yashin, has won this prestigious award. Despite many goalkeepers giving their best to win trophies for their clubs, they often go unrecognized.

The position can make you a hero in one game, and in the next, there’s a chance you could become a villain in the eyes of fans due to a small mistake. There’s hardly any opportunity for the team to correct a mistake if it’s made by the goalkeeper.

As Artur Boruc from Poland once said, “Being a goalkeeper is like being the guy in the military who makes the bombs—one mistake and everyone gets blown up.”

In the context of Indian football, many goalkeepers are emerging. Initially, the position was often reserved for foreign players. However, with the limit on the number of foreign players in the league now set to four, all clubs have been compelled to field an Indian goalkeeper.

Several goalkeepers have impressed clubs and crowds with their brilliant performances, reflexes, and shot-stopping abilities. By bravely standing their ground, they have led their clubs to victories and silverware.

Here are the top ten most valuable goalkeeping duos from the Indian Super League (ISL) (Player values by transfermakt)

10. Albino Gomes and Vishal Yadav (Jamshedpur FC) – INR 1.6 Cr

Albino Gomes joined Jamshedpur FC to replace Rehenesh TP, who left the club this year. The 30-year-old goalkeeper previously played for Sreenidi Deccan FC, who finished second in the league.
