IWL 2025-26: East Bengal FC record thumping win over Kickstart Karnataka FC, Sribhumi FC overcomes Garhwal United FC in Round 6

Sribhumi FC kicked off the Round 6 gameweek with an impressive result away from home with a 0-3 win against a below-par Garhwal United FC side. Goals from Toijam Thoibisana Chanu, Kayenpaibam Anju Chanu and Anju Tamang in the second half were enough to secure a crucial away win.

Gokulam Kerala FC drew 0-0 at home to SESA FA, helping the visitors earn their first point in the 2025-26 IWL campaign. A game which highly favored the Malabarians by the odd makers ended up disappointing their fans as they dropped two more points in an underwhelming campaign so far.

IWL champions East Bengal FC secured another huge result away from home with a 0-5 victory over Kickstart Karnataka FC on Tuesday. A brace from Fazila Ikwaput, alongside goals from Sulanjana Raul, Astam Oraon, and Resty Nanziri earned three more points for a side, who have won five games in a row this season.

A steam rolling win for the champions, who are showing the gulf in class from the chasing pack in Round 6 in the IWL this season. The final game saw Sethu FC win a huge game against NITA FA courtesy of a brace from Lynda Kom Serto which cancelled out Pyari Xaxa’s early strike in the 7th minute.

Round 6 of the campaign is clearly showing that East Bengal are the team to beat as they lead with comfort atop the IWL standings. The 2025-26 season is proving to be a historic season for the Torchbearers, who could become only the second team to repeat as IWL champions.
