In a closely contested match, the All Stars narrowly missed out, with the game concluding 3-2 in favour of Barcelona.

4. Harry Kewell medal winner in 2016

In 2016, Jamie Maclaren’s exceptional talent was recognized with the Harry Kewell Medal, awarded to an U-23 player for outstanding performance in the A-League or as an overseas-based Australian. His remarkable 2015-16 season with Brisbane Roar, where he found the net 17 times, underscored his potential and heralded the arrival of a new footballing star in the making.

His first triumph came with Brisbane Roar in the 2016-17 season, where he scored an impressive 19 goals. After joining Melbourne City FC, he continued his scoring spree, securing the Golden Boot with 22 goals in 2019-20, 25 goals in 2020-21, 15 goals in 2021-22, and 24 goals in 2022-23. His remarkable consistency has seen him win the award four times consecutively with Melbourne City. 

1. All-time top goal-scorer in A-League’s history

Jamie Maclaren’s name is etched at the top of the A-League’s scoring charts, boasting an unrivalled 154 goals in 215 appearances. His tenure at Melbourne City was particularly prolific, netting 115 goals in 163 games. Emblematic of a true No.9, his instinctual positioning and relentless drive have made him a constant goal threat. He scored his final goal in the A-League against Western United on 28 April, 2024.
