Khalid Jamil’s Jamshedpur FC registered their second comeback victory of their campaign.

Khalid Jamil’s Jamshedpur FC continues to defy expectations, securing yet another thrilling comeback victory against Mumbai City FC in their second fixture of the Indian Super League (ISL). Often seen as underdogs, Jamshedpur FC has taken the league by storm, defeating formidable opponents like FC Goa and Mumbai City FC in their opening two matches—both times after conceding the first goal.

Now, the team is focused on maintaining their winning momentum as they head to Bhubaneswar for their upcoming fixture against Odisha FC.

In the post-match press conference, Khalid Jamil expressed his delight with the team’s performance. When questioned about Jamshedpur FC’s lowball possession during the match, he confidently responded that dominating possession doesn’t always guarantee a win.

He asserted, “Keeping ball possession doesn’t always equate to dominating and winning matches. We have to be flexible enough with our strategies and formulate them according to our opponents.”

In both of their victories over Goa and Mumbai, Jamshedpur had less than 35% possession, yet managed to score five goals across two games and collect all six points. Khalid Jamil emphasized the importance of flexibility in tactics, tailoring strategies to specific opponents rather than sticking to a rigid approach.

In their first match against FC Goa, Jamshedpur FC employed a 4-1-4-1 formation, while against Mumbai City FC, they shifted to a 4-4-1-1 setup. This tactical adaptability showcases Jamil’s astute understanding of the game and his ability to read opponents swiftly.

Khalid Jamil also expressed gratitude for the tremendous home support in the opening match and urged fans to keep backing the team, promising more stellar performances in the season ahead. Jamshedpur FC’s next home fixture will be against East Bengal on October 5th, where they will aim to continue their impressive run.
