Jamshedpur FC rope in Serbian striker Nikola Stojanovic ahead of Super Cup 2025

Determined to turn the silver medal into gold in the upcoming edition of the AIFF Super Cup 2025, Jamshedpur FC have bolstered their attack by roping in Serbian striker Nikola Stojanovic. The Serbian striker has vast experience playing in the Indian subcontinent with Inter Kashi, Mohammedan SC, and Gokulam Kerala FC.

After recently terminating his contract with reigning I-League champions Inter Kashi, Stojanovic signed a new contract with Jamshedpur FC ahead of the AIFF Super Cup 2025.

After Khalid Jamil’s departure, the Red Miners have instilled their hope in Steven Dias to do wonders in the upcoming edition of the AIFF Super Cup 2025.

A closer look at Stojanovic’s journey across top European leagues

The 30-year-old Serbian striker was born and brought up in the former Yugoslavia. After Serbian independence in the early years of the twenty-first century, he honed his skills at the renowned FK Partizan youth academy. His journey took him south to Greece, playing for Ergotelis and AE Sparti.

After plying his trade in the Belarusian Premier League with FC Minsk, he joined FK Petrovac in the Montenegrin top flight. After accumulating years of experience in parts of Europe at a young age, his voyage then leapt across continents to India.

In the Indian subcontinent, he captained the century-old Mohammedan SC to a historic Calcutta Football League title after 40 years before making a move southwards to Gokulam Kerala. His career then took on a spiritual undertone at Varanasi.

He had a breakthrough year with Inter Kashi after scoring 9 goals and providing 1 assist in the I League last season. He also emerged as the top scorer for the Varanasi side and played a crucial role in helping the Uttar Pradesh outfit gain promotion to the Indian top flight.

Can Stojanovic be a good fit at Jamshedpur FC ?

Stojanovic will be expected to light up the Furnace with his goals, while also getting the better of quality opponents in the AIFF Super Cup 2025. After Jordan Murray and Javi Siverio’s departure, Stojanovic will be tasked with the responsibility of creating chances and scoring goals for the Red Miners.

Stojanovic has vast experience playing in India and is a proven winner. His link up play with Madih Talal and his ability to unlock defensive lines will be crucial. After captain Javi’s departure, Jamshedpur FC also needed a leader of the pack and Stojanovic has previously captained Mohammedan to glory in the CFL.

Whether Stojanovic can do big things with the Red Miners or not will be worth observing. But his addition to the squad has given Jamshedpur FC a big boost ahead of the AIFF Super Cup 2025.
