The Red Miners eye their first-ever Super Cup Final with a win over the Islanders.

Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC would be looking forward to putting up a valiant display of performance when they take on each other in the semi-finals of the Kalinga Super Cup 2025. The Red Miners are coming after an entertaining penalty shootout win over North East United FC. They also got the better of Hyderabad FC in the quarter-finals.

Talking about Petr Kratky’s Mumbai, they have emerged as one of the favourites for securing a continental spot. After representing India in the AFC Champions League last, they missed out on continental football for the last two years. They are coming after decimating Chennaiyin FC and Inter Kashi to reserve a spot in the semi-finals. This could be a great opportunity for the Islanders to salvage their season and book a ticket to Asia.

Jordan Murray vs TP Rehenesh

It would be an interesting battle when the former teammates lock horns against each other. Both Rehenesh and Jordan Murray were part of the Shield-winning JFC campaign under Owen Coyle. Jordan Murray has been in sublime form for the Red Miners since the ISL season.

Rehenesh, on the other hand, has a great opportunity to solidify his spot in the playing 11 and earn Kratky’s trust. After spending a lot of time on the bench for the Islanders, Rehenesh is getting some game time under his belt in the last couple of matches, and a clean sheet will be on his mind against his former side.

Vikram Partap Singh vs Stephen Eze

Vikram Partap Singh would have a big obstacle to climb when the Islanders take on Jamshedpur FC in the semi-finals. Vikram would be keen to get the better of the Red Miner’s defence, but Eze will be eager to stand tall to safeguard the Jamshedpur defence.

The Nigerian masterclass has been crucial for the Red Miners as they have secured two back-to-back clean sheets in the tournament so far. It would be an interesting battle as Vikram’s ability to get past Eze will decide if Mumbai can make it to the Finals.

Pronay Halder vs Hitesh Sharma

Pronay Halder’s presence in the Jamshedpur squad has added a different level of enthusiasm in the squad. He not only offers defensive stability but also anchors the team’s midfield properly. Khalid has shown a lot of faith and reliability on Halder’s shoulder, and he would be keen to stand up for his side.

Young Hitesh has been impressive ever since his time with the Nizams. After making a few appearances for the Islanders from the bench, the Super Cup provides a great opportunity for Hitesh to make a solid comeback and stamp his authority for the Islanders.
