Mikael Stahre’s Kerala Blasters are fully prepared to get back to winning ways with another home match on the horizon in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season.

Mikael Stahre’s take on upcoming game

Mikael Stahre, contemplating his strategies for the game, explained, “In this game, we will try to keep up the same energy and work ethic from the previous game. It must be our standard. We have to defend like a team with 11 players. We also have to possess the ball to control the game and use our counter-attacks to good effect.”

“In general, it will be the same strategy. On top of that, there are always some small details you have to adjust according to the opponent. We are up against a good team, well-coached with a very organised structure. However, it’s a tough game for them, just as much as it is for us. We will fight hard tomorrow for a win, and we’re looking forward to it,” said the gaffer.

Stahre shares insights on Korou Singh’s progress

Korou Singh Thingujam has quickly established himself as an important part of Mikael Stahre’s starting eleven. He has had a flying start to his career, providing two assists in his first two starts for the club. However, he has not played the full 90 minutes in a game, often being substituted around the hour mark.

The Blasters’ head coach discussed his approach to integrating the youngster into his team without hindering his development. “It’s a great plan to give a 17-year-old the chance to play in the ISL, that too in the starting lineup. Obviously, we think he’s a really good player. He’s young, talented, and he’s already integrated into the team. It’s also up to the coach to get the best out of every single individual.”

“From my perspective, he needs to improve a lot of things. He’s a really good player, but it’s still an early stage of his career. He has to keep working every single day and keep up the humbleness and the energy to want to improve,” said the Swedish tactician.
