Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal: Kolkata Derby All-time head-to-head record

A win in the Kolkata Derby will decide who will advance to the semifinal of the AIFF Super Cup.

Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are set to face off in their third Kolkata Derby of the 2025-26 season when they lock horns in the group stages of the 2025 Super Cup.

They will be meeting for bragging rights at the Fatorda Stadium in the final group game of their Super Cup campaign on Friday (31 October 2025).

The rivalry shared between the Mariners and the Red & Gold Brigade is a historic one in Indian football and one that has produced many memorable matches over the last few decades. The two Kolkata heavyweights have dominated the Indian football scene for many decades, with Mohun Bagan being the current defending champions of the Indian Super League (ISL).

The Mariners and East Bengal have faced each other on a variety of different occasions in cup competitions in the past, along with their almost regular meetings in league matches. The last five meetings between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, however, have seen the Mariners hold the advantage. Mohun Bagan have won four of their last five competitive matches against East Bengal, with the Red & Gold Brigade once in this period. When it comes to cup competitions, however, East Bengal have defeated Mohun Bagan twice in their last three meetings in such competitions.

Mohun Bagan and East Bengal have only faced each other once in the refurbished AIFF Super Cup. That took place in the 2024 Super Cup, when East Bengal grabbed a 3-1 win over the Mariners to progress into the knockout stages of the competition, which they would also go on to win.

The most recent meeting between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal took place in the 2025 IFA Shield final. The game finished 1-1 in normal time, which forced extra-time and eventually a penalty shootout, where the Mariners won by a 5-4 margin to clinch the IFA Shield title. East Bengal are craving for revenge and aim to get that in the upcoming match against the Mariners.
