East Bengal will look to bounce back on track.
It’s a tailenders clash in the Indian Super League (ISL 2024-25), as Odisha FC are set to host East Bengal next, on October 22, from 7:30 p.m.. The battle of revival will take place at the famous Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha FC are having their first match after the recent international break. The side has so far played four in the ongoing league, winning one, drawing one, and losing the rest. The Kalinga Warriors are sitting at the tenth spot and would be satisfied with only a win.
Kolkata giants East Bengal FC are probably having one of the worst starts in their ISL journey so far. They are the only side in the ongoing competition to have lost all their games and are yet to earn a point. It’s time for the Red & Gold army to stand for their legacy, and turn things around.
Both teams have a golden opportunity to make situations positive, and it would be interesting to see who calls for revival from here. Odisha FC might seem to be in a better state with the last two games unbeaten, but a wounded East Bengal with new coach Oscar Bruzon at the helm can surely shock any team of this nation, and they have faced a deep cut in hands of arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in form of a two-goal loss.
Games between the two sides have always been intense. Fans will never forget the early days of the clashes, when in 2021, we witnessed two games with more than ten goals in each. Even in the last two games, more than three goals have been the norm. Only twice we saw draws, while only one game was goalless.
On that note, let’s have a quick view of the head-to-head between the sides.
Odisha FC vs East Bengal: ISL Head-to-Head Record

East Bengal Wins: 1
Odisha FC vs East Bengal: Overall Head-to-Head Record

Odisha FC have had an upper hand in these clashes between the clubs from two neighboring states. However, with that being said, EBFC shouldn’t be ruled out, as they have often been tough to the Kalinga Warriors, losing by thin margins a number of times.
East Bengal won against them to clinch the Kalinga Super Cup earlier this year, at the same venue. Now, it is to see if Odisha FC takes an act of perfect revenge or if East Bengal manages to baffle them at home.
