The Blue Tigers have included rising stars like Kipgen.

India U20 Head Coach Ranjan Chaudhuri, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, announced a 23-member squad for the SAFF U20 Men’s Championship 2024, to be played in Kathmandu, Nepal from August 16 to 28, 2024. India are placed in Group B along with Maldives and Bhutan. The three teams in Group A are Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Chaudhuri has decided to take in India’s U-19 SAFF Championship 2023 hero, Manglengthang Kipgen, who also achieved a bright run of results with Punjab FC in the recently concluded Premier League Next Generation Cup 2024. Kipgen played a pivotal part in both competitions with goals and assists and will be a pivotal part for India once again at this tournament.

East Bengal FC coach Carles Cuadrat recently spoke about fielding players who recently competed in the Next Generation Cup on behalf of their youth team. Vanlalpeka Guite is one such prospect that Ranjan Chaudhuri has also selected for the tournament in Nepal. The midfielder will have to combine with Kipgen on a bigger stage to ensure they repeat their heroics and help India pave their way towards a brighter future.
