Kerala Blasters start their Super Cup campaign with a win.

Kerala Blasters edge past Rajasthan United 1-0 in the Group D fixtures of the Super Cup 2025 at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim, on the 30th of October 2025.

After a disappointing first half, both teams entered the pitch in the second half with grit and determination. Kerala Blasters’ constant attacks forced Gursimrat Singh Gill to commit a foul over Nihal Sudheesh, which led to the player being sent off for a straight red card.

From then, though Rajasthan displayed a spectacular performance with resilience, Blasters broke the deadlock off Koldo Obieta in the 88th minute to seal the win for the Blasters in Super Cup.

Disappointment in the first Half

Both Rajasthan United FC and Kerala Blasters came in with intent on the pitch for the heavyweight clash. Blasters pioneered some attacks from the flanks to gain momentum and find the back of the net to get an early advantage in the game. Though Adrian Luna and Korou Singh kept knocking on the Rajasthan doors, Surendra Singh was alert in the back and denied almost all the offensive initiatives of the Tuskers.

In the 14th minute, Korou capitalised on a loose ball to make an accelerated run to the final third to provide a carpet pass into the 6-yard box, which, to his dismay, did not find his teammate. Around ten minutes later, Danish was unmarked inside the Rajasthan penalty box, and he took a powerful header off an Adrian Luna corner, only to hit the woodwork.

For Rajasthan, the Kings made some clever moves and inflicted a few attacks, but it did not create much trouble for the Blasters. Later, there were no major initiatives from either side to attack, and during the break, the deadlock was yet to be broken.

Koldo Obieta wins it for Blasters

Just minutes into the second half, Rajasthan were reduced to 10 men as Gursimrat Singh was sent off with a straight red for taking down Nihal Sudheesh at the edge of the box. From then Rajasthan was seen with a newfound vigour and they completely dominated the vast majority of the second half. Rajasthan rose from its ruins and denied all the attacks of the Blasters, alongside making some stunning counterattacks to stun the Tuskers.

In the 88th minute, just as it felt like the game was going to be settled in a stalemate, Juan ventured deep into the attacking half and deployed a beautiful lofted ball into the six-yard box, where Koldo Obieta breached the goal with a timely header to break the deadlock.

Later, Amawia and Koldo came so close to scoring the second goal, but fortune did not favour them. In the final minute, Rajasthan put in a dipping ball to which Nora Fernandes somehow held his fingertips to keep the clean sheet, and at full time, Kerala Blasters clinched a 1-0 victory in the Super Cup.
