The salty coastal air of Trivandrum witnessed a jaw-dropping five-goal thriller as the two semi-finalists from the first edition of the Super League Kerala kick-started their campaign. The Chandrashekharan Nair Stadium in Kerala’s capital was jam-packed with vociferous Trivandrum fans wearing yellow.
The match began with young Shijin putting the away side ahead after converting the corner into a goal. An eventful first half ended in just a solitary goal. The second half saw Autemar Bispo equalising the scoreline for the home side.
Just when the match was heading to a draw, we saw three more goals, including two stoppage-time thrillers. An own goal from Felipe helps Kannur regain the lead, and Karim made it three in the dying minutes of the game.
