Kannur seals victory in the Pearl of the Arabian Sea.

The salty coastal air of Trivandrum witnessed a jaw-dropping five-goal thriller as the two semi-finalists from the first edition of the Super League Kerala kick-started their campaign. The Chandrashekharan Nair Stadium in Kerala’s capital was jam-packed with vociferous Trivandrum fans wearing yellow.

The match began with young Shijin putting the away side ahead after converting the corner into a goal. An eventful first half ended in just a solitary goal. The second half saw Autemar Bispo equalising the scoreline for the home side.

Just when the match was heading to a draw, we saw three more goals, including two stoppage-time thrillers. An own goal from Felipe helps Kannur regain the lead, and Karim made it three in the dying minutes of the game. Super League Kerala doesn’t fail to entertain us as Vicky scored a direct free kick to pull one back.
