Super League Kerala 2025: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after Match 2, Malappuram FC vs Thrissur Magic

Roy Krishna sealed the winner for Malappuram FC.

The two sides that failed to make it to the semi-finals of the maiden edition of the Super League Kerala kickstarted their campaign at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri. The match was heading for a goalless draw, but Roy Krishna sealed the fate of the game with a 72nd-minute penalty to clinch all three points for the home side.

Last season, John Gregory, who has ISL glory to his name, failed to make things work with Malappuram, finishing second from the bottom. They roped in Spanish gaffer Miguel Corral and also bolstered their squad by acquiring the services of veterans like Roy Krishna, Aitor Aldaur, and Sergio Gonzalez.

Thrissur Magic appointed former Mohammedan SC head coach Andrey Chernyshov for the new season after a horrible campaign last season. Former Chennaiyin FC star Mailson Alves was appointed the captain. Their campaign ended in a defeat to Malappuram in the opening fixture.

A brief look at the Super League Kerala points table

As things stand, after matchweek two, two teams find themselves positioned at the top of the table with three points and a positive goal difference of one each. Defending champions Calicut FC and Malappuram FC are sitting at the top of the table.

Two losing teams from the first matchweek so far, Forca Kochi FC and Thrissur Magic, find themselves at the bottom of the table with 0 points and a negative goal difference of one. Kombans FC and Kannur Warriors are yet to play a match and will lock horns against each other next.
