Malappuram clinch a hard-fought point after netting two late goals in a six-goal thriller.

The footballing cathedral of Kerala geared up to host the penultimate game of Match Week 3 in the Super League Kerala 2025, where one of the only undefeated teams, Malappuram, locked horns against defending champions, Calicut FC.

Malappuram FC, led by Spanish gaffer Miguel Corral, conceded an early goal. Their undefeated run was at stake after the away side were leading 3-1 until the 85th minute. Two late goals from Nithin Madhu and John Kennedy saw the Payannad Stadium erupt in jubilation.

Calicut, led by Argentine gaffer Ever Demalde, were keen to get back to winning ways after a defeat to Thrissur. They would be frustrated after literally dropping all three points from this game. Even a brace from Muhammad Ajsal and a strike from Prashanth were not enough for Calicut to win this Super League Kerala game.

There have been no alterations in the points table as both teams atop settled for a goalless draw tonight. As things stand, Malappuram and Kannur are at the summit with 4 points each and are the only undefeated teams so far in this tournament.

Things are getting heated up at the top as there is just a single point difference between the top-ranked team and the 5th placed team.
