Indian football could be in for one of its most exciting international stretches in recent years as Khalid Jamil’s squad has the chance to test themselves against some big World Cup-playing nations, which surely gives them the exposure and confidence.
The Blue Tigers are all set to lock horns against the five-time FIFA World Cup champions, Brazil, on 3rd October, 2026, at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata. Following which they will face Uruguay on 6th October at the same venue. However, the window will begin with India taking on Panama on 26th September at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
In November, the Indian Football Team will then travel to New Zealand to feature in two matches against them on November 12th and 15th.

Panama National Football Team are poised to be the first FIFA World Cup 2026 nation to feature in a friendly game against the Indian Men’s National Football Team in the September international window. The match is scheduled to kick off on 26th September 2026 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
Against Panama, Khalid Jamil’s squad will get an interesting opportunity to assess the squad to point out the strong and weak points of the team before the Brazil clash.
A tough Brazil friendly awaits
The Brazilian Men’s National Football Team will play on 3rd October 2026, at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata against the Blue Tigers.
A few days ago, the CBF delegation also visited the Salt Lake Stadium to inspect the whole environment and infrastructure of the venue, training facilities, accommodation, and other arrangements ahead of the fixture, as one of the biggest football-playing nations will set foot at the VYBK Stadium.
For India, it will be a great opportunity to come up against the Selecao, who are ranked fifth in the FIFA World ranking and experience the footballing culture, speed, technical quality and intensity of one of international football’s biggest sides.

Uruguay test awaits for India on 6th October
Another FIFA World Cup nation, Uruguay will play an international friendly against the Blue Tigers in the September-October window.
Follwoing the Brazil clash on 3rd October 2026, the Indian Men’s National Football Team are set to face the Uruguay National Football Team on 6th October 2026 at the VYBK Stadium.
The Uruguay national football team, who had a decent FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign and are now led by former Mumbai City FC player Diego Forlan are ready to travel to India with an aim to rebuild for the upcoming World Cup.
New Zealand challenge in November
Just after playing Panama, Brazil and Uruguay, there is another FIFA World Cup nation for the Blue Tigers as they will travel to New Zealand in November to play against the New Zealand football team.
Go Media Stadium in Auckland is set to host the first game between India and New Zealand on 12th November 2026, followed by the second match at the One New Zealand Stadium on 15th November.

India are set to face Brazil on 3 October 2026 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Kolkata.
When will India play New Zealand?
India will play New Zealand twice in November 2026 — on 12 November in Auckland and 15 November at One New Zealand Stadium.
