New faces in India U23 football team for Thailand friendly

The India U23 football team will face Thailand U23 on November 15.

India U23 football team, after their recent success against Indonesia, will face Thailand U23 on November 15. The match will be played at the Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani at 15:30 IST. This will be the only fixture for the Indian U23 team in the November FIFA International Window.

India U23 football team head coach Naushad Moosa has introduced some new faces into the squad. He is looking to build on the momentum and good results he has gained. With new faces in the team, Moosa aims to create a core of talented youngsters who can be part of the senior national team in the future.

Kamaludheen AK

Among the goalkeepers, Kamaludheen AK is the new face who will be part of the setup. The 21-year-old goalkeeper from Kerala has been playing for Thrissur Magic FC in the Super League Kerala, where he has kept three clean sheets in five appearances this season.

Manglenthang Kipgen

The Punjab FC midfielder has stolen the limelight in the AIFF Super Cup 2025. Manglenthang Kipgen scored a goal against Mohammedan SC. The 19-year-old Manipuri midfielder will be another exciting prospect in the centre of the park for the Indian U23 team.

Singamayum Shami

Punjab FC youngsters cannot stop making their way into the Indian U23 team. Singamayum Shami is another addition to the Indian U23 team from Punjab FC. The 18-year-old has been one of the consistent performers in the youth setup. Shami led India to the SAFF U-19 Championship glory earlier this year.

The creative prodigy scored a crucial goal in the final as well. He rose to prominence in the last season when he became the youngest goalscorer in ISL history. Moosa will be hoping for similar performances from Shami in the Indian U23 setup.

Alan Saji

The Gaur has been on the radar after his move on loan to Sporting Club Delhi. In the limited game time that he got in the Super Cup this season, Saji has made the most of it by scoring a goal. Naushad Moosa hopes to find another fine attacker in the form of Alan Saji.

Raj Basfore

Making a step up from the U20 team will be Raj Basfore. The 22-year-old recently earned a move to Chennaiyin FC from Mohun Bagan. He received two starts for Channaiyin in the AIFF Super Cup.

Basfore played mainly as a right-back in the group stages. He has played in various positions in the past, which provides Naushad Moosa with tactical flexibility.

Lalthankima

Lalthankima has made it to the Indian U23 team after playing several matches for Mohammedan SC this season.

The youngster has started all the matches for his club in the Durand Cup and AIFF Super Cup. The Mizoram forward performs best when playing on the right flank but can also be used in other areas of the attack.
