Indian Football Team Player Watch: Roshan, Bheke & Mehtab impress; Chhangte, Farukh need to improve

A few Indian football team players impressed in the recently concluded ISL games.
Khel Now is back with another analysis of the Indian football team players. This time the names of 23 players who represented the nation in the match against Vietnam in an international friendly have been listed.
This report has been prepared based on the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 gameweek 5 to keep the players’ performance updated, while keeping an eye on the upcoming international friendly against Malaysia.
The performances of the 36 players till the Gameweek 5 of ISL
Roshan Singh Naorem – 8.5
Roshan was among the best-performing Indian players in the league this week. He scored the winning goal for Bengaluru FC against Punjab FC and made two clearances while winning 5/5 of his ground duels.
Rahul Bheke – 8
Bheke’s leadership skills were on display in Bengaluru FC’s win over Punjab FC. He held the backline together and neutralized the danger. He recorded seven clearances, one clearance, and one block.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 7.5
Gurpreet has maintained his strong run of form under the bar with five back-to-back clean sheets, the most in the league so far. Sandhu has not conceded a single goal in the league so far.
Manvir Singh – 7.5
Manvir Singh’s creative abilities were up on display in the Kolkata derby. He looked dangerous and kept the opposition on their toes all the time. Moreover, he also got an assist to his name to show for his efforts.
Mehtab Singh – 7.5
Mehtab was a towering presence for Mumbai City FC in their first win of the season. He won most of his duels, made three blocks, and made nine clearances. He also kept his passing accuracy at 87%.
Vishal Kaith – 7
Vishal’s herpes were up on display in the Kolkata Derby. The Indian international kept a clean sheet and inspired his side to yet another derby win last week. He made a save and a high claim while completing the majority of his passes.
Nikhil Poojary – 7
Nikhil was a livewire at the right-back position for Bengaluru FC against Punjab FC. He made three clearances, one block and one interception each also winning most duels.
Subhasish Bose – 7
Bose gave a good account of himself in the Kolkata Derby. He made two clearances, interceptions and blocks each while winning all of his aerial duels.
Asish Rai – 7
Asish Rai also had a good week. He was solid at the right-back position for Mohun Bagan and won the ball at crucial junctures of the game. Rai also executed two tackles and clearances.
Lalengmawia – 7
Apuia was an ever-present figure in the middle of the park for Mohun Bagan. He completed 91% of his passes while winning five ground duels. He also made four interceptions and tackles each.
Lalrinliana Hnamte – 7
Hnamte controlled the tempo of the game for Chennaiyin FC and helped them pull off a comeback win over NorthEast United. He won eight ground duels and made two clearances and interceptions each.
Suresh Singh Wangjam 6.5
Suresh put up an average performance on display this week, The only highlight for him would be his passing accuracy of 85%.

Brandon Fernandes – 6.5
Brandon also had an average outing. He only managed to achieve a passing accuracy of 68% and won ground duels.
Liston Colaco – 6.5
Liston put up a decent performance in the Kolkata Derby, he recorded three shots on target but missed a chance to score. Moreover, he lost possession 23 times.
Aakash Sangwan – 6.5
The left-back did not have a great outing this week. It was an unexpected performance from him as he only managed to record one interception and three tackles.
Lallianzuala Chhangte – 6.5
Chhangte had a below-average game and failed to impress the viewers. He did not look threatening at all and couldn’t win any of his ground duels.
Farukh Chaudhary – 6.5
Farukh failed to continue his momentum and had a below-par outing for Chennaiyin FC. He lost the ball 18 times and maintained a poor passing accuracy of 59%.
Vikram Partap Singh – 6.5
Vikram also had a poor outing this week. He failed to make any noteworthy impact up front and lost the ball ten times. But, he did record four interceptions, three tackles and a clearance.
Anwar Ali – 6
Anwar Ali put up a decent show, but couldn’t prevent his side from ending up on the losing side. He pulled off four clearances and three blocks in the Kolkata Derby.
Chinglensana Singh Konsham – 5
Chinglensana Singh conceded a red card and put his side in danger.
Amrinder Singh – NA
Edmund Lalrindika – NA
Jeakson Singh Thounaojam – NA
