The Indian football team kicked off the year with a win over Maldives.

The India men’s national football team will be looking to reach a higher level under coach Manolo Marquez in their competitive matches in the year of 2025. The Blue Tigers have played two games in the calendar year so far, which have garnered topsy-turvy results.

The Blue Tigers defeated the Maldives in a friendly by a 3-0 margin on 19 March, picking up their first win under Manolo Marquez in style. They were, although, held to a frustrating 0-0 draw in the opening game of their 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers at Shillong, being unable to get their qualifiers campaign off to the most ideal of starts.

The Indian football team are currently scheduled to play a number of important games for the remainder of 2025. This includes a plethora of matches in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers as well as friendly games.

Even though 2024 might’ve been a disappointing one for the Blue Tigers, who were unable to win a single game in the calendar year, they can redeem themselves in 2025. Here we look at the India football team’s schedule for the year 2025.

Indian Men’s Football Team 2025 schedule

March

India 3-0 Maldives – Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong (19 March, 2025)

India 0-0 Bangladesh – Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong (25 March, 2025)

June

Thailand vs India – Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok (4 June, 2025) – TBD

Hong Kong vs India – Kai Tak Sports Pak, Kowloon (10 June, 2025) – TBD

The Blue Tigers have been confirmed to take part in a friendly match against Thailand at the Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok in the start of June. This will be the first meeting between the two national team since 2019, when Blue Tigers had defeated Thailand in the King’s Cup – which was also their first win under Igor Stimac.

After the friendly clash against Thailand, India will be moving to Kowloon, Hong Kong for their second AFC Asian Cup qualifier. This will be against the Hong Kong national team and is a must-win match for India to take control of their group.

October

India vs Singapore – TBD (9 October, 2025) – TBD

Singapore vs India – National Stadium, Kallanga (14 October, 2025) – TBD

The Blue Tigers players will have quite a long break from international duty after the June international games. They are currently scheduled to return to action for the two AFC Asian Cup qualifier games in October, which will be pretty important clashes for the Blue Tigers.

The Blue Tigers will be hosting Singapore for the first match, and this will be their first match since the 1-1 draw in an international friendly in September, 2022. The Blue Tigers are actually winless in their last three meetings against Singapore, something they’ll be determined to change in this clash.

After the clash against Singapore, they will be traveling to Singapore for the second clash against them in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The Blue Tigers have actually never defeated Singapore in their own yard, and that is one record they’ll look to change this time around.

November

Bangladesh vs India – Sylhet District Stadium, Sylhet (18 November, 2025) – TBD

The Blue Tigers’ final scheduled match for the 2025 (for the time being) is going to be against rivals Bangladesh in a key AFC Asian Cup qualifier away from home. The Blue Tigers were frustrated by the Bengal Tigers in their previous game, being unable to score a goal against them or get a win.

The Blue Tigers have a bit of a sketchy record against Bangladesh in recent years, having won just once in their last six matches against them. The last time that they defeated the Bengal Tigers in their home country was back in 2009. Marquez will hope his side can improve this record with a big win to take control of their group.
