The Indian football team need to win against Kuwait to keep their World Cup qualifying chances alive.
The Indian football team will be gearing up for their upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers game against Kuwait with a month-long preparatory camp. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced that the camp will commence on May 10th, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Head Coach Igor Stimac will be looking to utilize this extended period to fine-tune his squad’s strategy and build match fitness. With a crucial World Cup qualification campaign on the horizon, the camp holds significant importance for the Blue Tigers.
The four-week training period in Bhubaneswar will provide Stimac with a valuable opportunity to assess a wider pool of players and experiment with different formations. The camp is expected to see the participation of a large contingent, with players from the recently concluded Indian Super League (ISL) season forming the core group. Moreover, players from the I-League might also be called up to the camp.
Following the intensive training in Bhubaneswar, the final squad selected for the World Cup qualifiers will then shift base to Kolkata on June 2nd. This will allow the team to acclimatize to the playing conditions in Kolkata, which is likely to be the venue for the upcoming clash against Kuwait.
The Indian football team will play their World Cup Qualifiers against Kuwait on 6th June 2024. However, with the team assembling in early May, coach Stimac has ensured ample time for preparation. This extended camp will be a welcome change compared to the limited preparation time faced by the Blue Tigers earlier this year during the qualifiers against Afghanistan.
Igor Stimac, known for his meticulous planning, will be hoping to maximize the benefits of this preparatory camp. The Indian football team will be aiming to secure a positive result against Kuwait and keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
