The Kerala Blasters’ new signing has struck up a lethal partnership with Peprah.

Kerala Blasters have been the highest-scoring side in the Durand Cup 2024 group stages. Mikael Stahre’s army has a staggering 16 goals in their favour and only one against them which came in the 1-1 draw against Punjab FC.

10 of those goals are owed to the Tuskers’ new wing wizard Noah Sadaoui and Ghanaian attacking linchpin Kwame Peprah. While Sadaoui has been their primary force with six goals and two assists, Peprah has almost unlocked a new version of himself, with four goals and four assists.

Kerala’s Ghanaian striker scored four times and assisted one goal in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 and the Kalinga Super Cup. However, he hadn’t reached the heights expected of him till this edition of the Durand Cup. Sadaoui was still a doubt but he has put rumours of flopping with his new side to bed with his stellar performances.

The Blasters’ newest duo tore apart Mumbai City FC and CISF Protectors as they won 8-0 against the young Islanders and 7-0 against the paramilitary outfit. Additionally, Noah Sadaoui scored two consecutive hattricks and Peprah pipped in with two consecutive braces.

The Manjappada are no doubt thrilled with the Sadaoui-Peprah combination that heralds Stahre’s era at the helm. While they will be delighted with such a profitable chemistry upfront, they are also sure to be pleased about the Tuskers’ resolute defense.

Kerala Blasters are yet to achieve their maiden piece of silverware as newer opponents like Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC, and Hyderabad FC have already started filling up their cabinets earlier than the ISL 2014 debutants. They made it to the ISL 2021-22 finals last under Ivan Vukomanovic but were beaten to the trophy by the Nizams.

Now the Swedish tactician will have a point to prove as he aims to get the Tuskers their first-ever trophy and repay the fans’ passion and loyalty.
