Where and how to watch the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Memorial Trophy 2024?
The second edition of the tournament kicks off on 24th August.
The Bhausaheb Bandodkar Memorial Trophy 2024 started off with the qualifiers for the Goa Professional League(GPL) sides. Sporting Clube de Goa won this playoff round and will join the elite competition pool already waiting for them in the tournament.
Two international invitees have been brought on board to play in the competition featuring eight teams. Isuzu A-League side Brisbane Roar FC have been drawn into Group A of the eight-team tournament and will face FC Goa, Dempo SC, and Sporting Clube de Goa.
On the other hand, Argentina Primera División outfit CD Defensa y Justicia have been put into Group B alongside Indian Super League (ISL) sides Chennaiyin FC and Odisha FC and I-League outfit Churchill Brothers. The top two teams from each group will progress directly to the semi-finals and the winners of the two final four games will face off in the tournament’s final.
The first edition of the tournament was launched earlier this year in May, including the top three teams from the Goa Pro League, two outstation teams, and six other Goa Pro League teams. FC Goa beat Kerala Blasters in the final to clinch the trophy on home soil in dramatic fashion as they beat the Tuskers on penalties.
The matches for the second edition of the Bhausaheb Bandodkar Memorial Trophy will be played between August 24 and September 6, 2024. The group stage matches will be played at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM IST on each matchday. Both of the semi-finals will be held on September 3 and the final of the tournament will be hosted on September 6.
All Bhausaheb Bandodkar Memorial Trophy 2024 games will be played at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.
