I-League 2024-25: Full updated squad of Shillong Lajong FC
After Durand Cup’s impressive run, Shillong Lajong will aim for a top Finish in I-League.
Shillong Lajong FC (SLFC) will participate in the I-League 2024-25 season. The Shillong-based team will start their campaign against Churchill Brothers on November 24, 2024, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Polo Ground), Shillong. The match will kick off at 7 PM.
Shillong Lajong FC are the first outfit from NorthEast India to participate in the I-League, previously the top division of the Indian professional football league. However, the club did not succeed in finishing at the top position in the league.
In their first season of the I-league, SLFC finished at the bottom of the league table. The club’s league positions from the seasons are:
- 2009-10: 14th
- 2011-12: 10th
- 2012-13: 11t
- 2013-14: 6th
- 2014-15: 9th
- 2015-16: 6th
- 2016-17: 5th
- 2017-18: 6th
- 2018-19: 11th
The club played in the I-League 2 in the 2022–23 season, and, after ending the league in the second position, they were back in the I-League. In the last season, the club played 24 matches, winning eight, losing nine, and drawing eight games. With 31 points, they finished eighth in the league table.
This season, the club had an impressive run in the 133rd edition of the Durand Cup. SLFC defeated ISL outfit East Bengal FC by a 2-1 scoreline and secured their position in the semifinals for the first time. However, NorthEast United FC defeated the team by a 3-0 scoreline in the Durand Cup’s semifinal.
Signings
The team made multiple signings this season. Former head coach, Spanish gaffer Jose Havia, made his return to the team this summer.
They signed Spanish midfielder Imanol Arana, Brazilian midfielder Renan Paulino, goalkeeper Manas Dubey, who had an impressive Durand Cup campaign, Kitboklang Khyriem (right-back) from Delhi FC, Sheen Stevenson Sohktung (forward) from Diamond Harbour FC, Tremiki Lamurong (winger) from Rangdajied United FC, Apborlang Kurbah (defender) from Rangdajied United FC, Ranit Sarkar (goalkeeper) from Emami East Bengal, and Maxderidoff Wahlang (midfielder) from Langsning FC.

Defenders: Abhay Chettri, Apbor Kurbah, Aman Ahlawat, Daniel Goncalves, Kitboklang Khyriem, Kynsailang Khongsit, Ronney Willson Kharbudon, Saveme Tariang, and Kenstar Kharshong.
Midfielders: Baby Sunday Marngar, Batskhemhlang Thangkhiew, Damaitphang Lyngdoh, Gladdy Nelcen Kharbuli, Hamedamanbha Wahlang, Hardy Cliff Nongbri, Imanol Arana Sadaba, Kynsaibor Lhuid, Laiwang Bohham, Maxderidoff Wahlang, Renan Paulino de Souza, Tremiki Lamurong, Wadajied Kynsai Ryngkhlem.
Forwards: Douglas Tardin, Everbrightson Sana Mylliempdah, Figo Syndai, Marcos Rudwere Genar e Silva, Phrangki Buam, Sheen Stevenson Sohktung.
Goalkeepers: Manas Dubey, Ranit Sarkar, Neithovilie Chalieu.
