Super League Kerala 2024: List of all squads
An initiative celebrating Kerala’s football heritage and nurturing local talent.
Super League Kerala is all set to commence its inaugural edition on September 7, 2024. The league will feature six teams from across Kerala facing off in home and away fixtures, with the top four clubs advancing to the knockout stage.
The competition aims to harness Kerala’s rich footballing heritage to set elite standards and reinforce the footballing culture throughout the state. The league also aims to unearth hidden talents, nurture their development, and open doors to top-tier football. The tournament is by no means lacking in stardom, with many prominent figures in Indian football choosing to participate in the league.
Here are the six teams featuring in the league:
Forca Kochi FC
Forca Kochi FC, co-owned by popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, is gearing up for their debut campaign with Mario Lemos as their coach. The club has secured some exciting signings, including former Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC midfielder Raphael Augusto. The former Indian International and experienced goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury will captain the side for the campaign.

Malappuram FC
Malappuram FC, based in Kerala’s most football-obsessed district, is certain to enjoy a strong fan following. The spotlight is firmly on the club with the addition of the Indian Super League-winning manager John Gregory.
The team has bolstered its lineup with experienced players, such as Joseba Beitia and Pedro Manzi. Local boy and former Indian international Anas Edathodika is set to captain the side in the league. The club will surely function as a stepping stone for the abundance of local protégé in Malappuram.

Roaring from the North of Malabar, Kannur Warriors will embody the rich heritage and culture of Kannur. The team is ready for the campaign under the guidance of Spanish manager Manolo Sanches, who will be making his debut in Indian football with them.
Former Indian international Adil Khan will provide leadership on the pitch as well as solidity in the back. The club looks to have a balanced squad, blending experience with youthful talent.”

Based in the Thalasthana Nagari, the Thiruvananthapuram Kombans will proudly represent the heart and pride of the city.
The club has appointed Brazilian tactician Sergio Alexandre to lead their challenge for the title. Signings like Patrick Mota and Marcos Wilder bring a touch of Brazilian flair to the attack. The club also features a promising Indian core, rich with local talent.

Another city that enriches the footballing culture of Kerala will now have its shirt to represent throughout the campaign. Scottish manager Ian Gillan will guide the club into the season.
Kerala football fans will have a familiar face to cheer for with former Kerala Blasters forward Kervens Belfort returning to Indian football with Calicut FC. Calicut FC will certainly focus on utilizing the vast pool of untapped talent from Kozhikode, along with experienced recruits from elsewhere.

The cultural capital of Kerala will now enhance its football legacy with Thrissur Magic FC. The side will have Italian tactician Giovani Scanu on the sidelines as they kick off their inaugural season.
The veteran centre-back and former ISL winner Mailson Alves will lead their backline, with Indian international CK Vineeth operating upfront. With additions like Marcelo Toscano and Soram Poirei, the club is well-equipped with experience and is also bringing in young players across all positions.
