Gokulam Kerala sign Puerto Rican midfielder Adriana Tirado
The 23-year-old has played for her national team at the senior and U-20 levels.
Gokulam Kerala women’s team have a special season coming up. While their male counterparts will defend the I-League, the women’s team will do the same in the Indian Women’s League (IWL). They will also take part in the inaugural AFC Women’s Club Championship. Ahead of both competitions, they have signed midfielder Adriana Maria "Tuti" Tirado Ortiz, Khel Now can confirm.
"Adriana Tirado has joined Gokulam Kerala. The club will make the official announcement soon," sources close to the developments informed Khel Now.

"The team intends to prepare as well as they can for the IWL and the AFC Women's Club Championship. Hence, they’ve been actively looking for foreign players. The Malabarians recently announced the signing of Myanmar international Win Theingi Tun, and Tirado will follow suit," the sources further added.
About the player
Hailing from San Juan in Puerto Rico, Adriana Tirado began her football career at a young age. The midfielder excelled in various school-level competitions as a kid, before joining Roosevelt FC and winning multiple accolades with them.
Her stint at Roosevelt also helped her move to the USA for her higher studies, where she continued to play the game for various teams at the New Mexico State University and later the Saint Leo University. At around the same time, she also kick-started her professional football career. She has featured for Bayamon FC and Puerto Rico Pride to-date.
Now, Tirado will travel to India for the first time, with Gokulam Kerala securing her services for the ongoing 2021-22 season.

Adriana Tirado has also been a part of the Puerto Rican national team setup since the age of 14. She played for the Puerto Rico U-20 side before making her senior team debut in 2018.
Gokulam Kerala’s pre-season preparations
GKFC have already made a host of new signings apart from retaining important players - making it clear that they have a positive approach towards the development of the women's team. Manisha Kalyan, Michel Castanha, Karishma Shirvoikar and Sabitra Bhandari are among those who have signed contract extensions, while Ritu Rani, Soumya Guguloth, Aditi Chauhan, Theingi Tun and so on are the new incomings.
