Ipswich Town are all set to have a face-off against Nottingham Forest in their matchweek 8 fixture of the English Premier League 2026-27 campaign. This interesting contest will take place at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys are coming off a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in their previous league outing. They pushed Enzo Maresca’s men to the limit, but failed to secure any points. Ipswich Town have three wins in their first seven English top-division games this season and are in 10th place on the points table.
Gary O’Neil’s men will be the hosts for their next fixture, and this is going to be one of the advantages for them. They can attack well, but must take care of their efforts in the backline, which have looked underwhelming so far.
The Oliver Glasner-led side are now on a three-match losing run in the Premier League 2026-27. After securing a win against Aston Villa, they suffered losses at the hands of Coventry City, Crystal Palace and the defending champions Arsenal. The Tricky Trees will be eager to get back to winning ways.
They are going to be the visiting side in their upcoming league outing, and it is only going to make things tougher for Nottingham Forest.
Players to Watch
Daizen Maeda (Ipswich Town)
Daizen Maeda is going to be one of the main men in the squad for Ipswich Town. He can control the midfield well and is also capable of scoring goals. The 28-year-old scored one of the goals for his side in their 2-3 loss against Man City and will be looking to add more to his tally.
Xaver Schlager (Nottingham Forest)
The 29-year-old is going to play an important role for Nottingham Forest both in the midfield and the defence. He was one of the top performers for his side in their 0-1 defeat to Arsenal in their previous Premier League outing. Xaver Schlager had the most defensive contributions (14) and will be keen to come up with another top performance.
