The 32-year-old becomes the Lions' sixth overseas acquisition this summer.
One of the few teams to be highly active in the transfer market, Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Delhi Dynamos have now signed Spanish striker Aridane Santana. The 32-year-old joins the Lions on a one-year loan from Spanish Segunda Division B (third division) side Cultural and Sports Leonesa and is expected to be the solution for the capital-based side's goal drought last season.
The Spaniard comes to Indian with huge prior experience of playing in several divisions of Spanish football, with Real Deportivo B, Real Zaragoza B, Leganes, Deportivo Tenerife and Albacete Balompie. It will be the stiker's second stint in Asia, after playing for Bangkok Glass FC in 2015, making 16 appearances and scoring nine goals in the process.
The Dynamos, who finished in eighth place last season, scored only 23 times, with first-choice striker Daniel Lalhlimpuia misfiring and ending the campaign with only four goals. However, without a proven goalscorer spearheading their attack, the Dynamos failed to score important goals in tight fixtures, which cost them crucial points in the league.
Santana becomes their fifth overseas signing in the summer after Diawandou Diagne, Xisco Hernandez, Martin Perez Guedes and Carlos Delgado. They have also retained Marcos Tebar from the previous season, which makes Santana the sixth and final foreigner in their squad.

Although, the capital-based side finished in the bottom half of the table, they had shown moments of brilliance under the guidance of the Spaniard. However, a sucessful transfer window means the Spanish tactician will be able to implement his tactics more fluidly next season.
