New Indian Super League franchise Hyderabad FC unveil logo
The team is the second of two new outfits to enter the cash-rich league this season.
New Indian Super League franchise Hyderabad FC have announced their club crest ahead of the new season. The Vijay Madduri and Varun Tripuraneni-owned outfit will be the second new franchise to feature in the upcoming ISL season after Odisha FC.
The logo lives up to the cultural heritage of Hyderabad, with the minarets of the Char Minar which is often associated with the city. Also, the overall texture of the crest has a resemblance to the Kohinoor diamond.
Along with the crest, the club also payed tribute to the state's rich footballing legacy, as they announced 'Reliving Hyderabad's Football Legacy' as the official tagline of the club. The outfit have pledged to do everything in their power to reignite the city's passion for the soport in the coming years.
Speaking about the club's ideology and vision ahead Varun Tripuneni, co-owner of the franchise said, "Hyderabad had an interesting legacy with the sport from way back to 1910. From then on, from the 1920s to 1950s, Hyderabad dominated the football scene in India.
"We are confident that Hyderabad FC will receive a fantastic response and the city will be buzzing with the spirit."

The other co-owner Vijay Madduri also added, "The logo is inspired from the city's history. We now hope that HFC will be a great boost for the sport in the region...We can give a boost to the legacy that is already present in the city's history and roots."
The outfit have retained Brazilian forward Marcelinho and experienced Austrian midfielder, Marko Stankovic will also be seen in Hyderabad colours. Indian internationals like Nikhil Poojary, Kamaljit Singh and Adil Khan have also stayed at the club. Further, experienced coach Phil Brown has already pledged his loyalties to the new ISL franchise.
While shifting their base from Pune, the franchise lost a lot of players citing uncertainty over their future. The departure of first-team regulars like Diego Carlos and Ashique Kuruniyan will be a big blow for Brown and his men, as they still look to make some signings ahead of the new season.
