The duo featured for the Gaurs in the Goa Pro League and I-League 2nd Division respectively in the previous season.

Hyderabad FC have roped in Sweden Fernandes from FC Goa and are also in talks to sign another Gaurs youngster Lalawmpuia, Khel Now can confirm.

The Nizams are gradually building a great Indian core for the upcoming season and with Albert Roca on board, they are expected to look ahead for a bright future.

Sweden Fernandes is a 20-year-old prodigy who has played well locally in Goa. Fernandes started his career at the Sporting Clube de Goa U-18 team and then shifted loyalties to Dempo U-18 and finally joined the FC Goa youth setup in 2017. Since then, he has flourished with his exquisite vision and passing range in the Goa Pro League and also in the I-League 2nd Division.

He also has a knack of chipping in with goals having scored four times and assisted a further twice in the GPL last season. Sweden Fernandes thus becomes the latest to join the young band of players that have already signed for the Hyderabad FC, including Akash Mishra and Hitesh Sharma.

Meanwhile, Lalawmpuia has been one of the highly-rated young talents at FC Goa. The 20-year-old forward started his career at the much-fabled Pune FC youth setup and then joined the youth team of DSK Shivajians. His consistent performances were rewarded with a place in the first-team, but soon, FC Goa came calling.

Lalawmpuia was in a superb form for FC Goa last season

The Mizo forward has since been with FC Goa's U-18 team and also with their reserves side. He was even included in the first-team in the Indian Super League last season. The striker has been a revelation in the I-League 2nd Division and is known for his blistering pace and ability to find space in the final third.

Lalawmpuia has also featured for the India U-19 side and has scored three goals in four appearances for the Blue Colts. He also appeared in the Durand Cup last season, where the Gaurs fielded a young squad comprising players mostly from their reserves team.

Both the youngsters have a great future ahead in Indian football and will get to play and more importantly, learn under Albert Roca's guidance at Hyderabad FC. Yet, Lalawmpuia and Sweden Fernandes will have to fight for their places in the team, as the squad is stacked with a lot of Indian talent.

The Nizams are finally making moves in the transfer market, as they look to get the right blend of youth and experience, to right all the wrongs from the last season. With Roca at the helm, the Hyderabad FC faithful can expect a lot of good things in the upcoming season and also in the near future.
