The young defender signed his first professional contract with Bengaluru FC in 2016 but played just a single game for them in I-League 2016-17. He was also a part of their 2017 AFC Cup squad and played twice in the group stages. He was picked up in the draft leading up to ISL 2017-18 by NorthEast United and played for them five times through that season. Gill returned to Bengaluru FC in the 2018-19 campaign.
Gursimrat Singh Gill also featured for Sudeva Delhi FC in the 2020/21 season. Noticing his potential, ATK Mohun Bagan FC handed a contract to the young defender. He was mostly a bench warmer in ATK Mohun Bagan and could only feature in four games or the Kolkata-based outfit.
The most noticeable trait of Gursimrat is his versatility. Despite being a natural central defender, he can also handle other positions like right back, right midfielder, and even a defensive midfielder.

Mumbai City FC's pre-season preparations
Coming on the back of a superb ending to their campaign last season with an excellent show in the AFC Champions League, Mumbai City FC have gone from strength to strength. Des Buckingham's side are currently participating in Durand Cup 2022.
They currently sit on top of Group B and have already advanced to the quarter-finals with a game in hand. In a group featuring ATK Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, the Islanders have won two games in three.
Mumbai City have also been a hit in the transfer market. The Islanders have signed last season's Golden Ball winner Greg Stewart from Jamshedpur FC. They have also added fellow ISL experienced players like Alberto Noguera and Jorge Pereyra Diaz. Buckingham has also shoed up his defence with the addition of Rostyn Griffiths.
