The 25-year-old made 14 appearances in the ISL last season.

Versatile full-back Parag Shrivas is set to sign a contract extension at Bengaluru FC, Khel Now can confirm. The full-back will pen a three-year deal with the former champions that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.

“Parag Shrivas and Bengaluru FC are close to reaching an agreement over a three-year contract renewal,” a source close to the developments told Khel Now. The 25-year-old played 14 times for BFC in ISL 2021-22.

Parag was one of the lucky youngsters from India who had had a chance to train at the Allianz Arena, the home of Bayern Munich in 2013.

He came up through the BFC ranks and earned a name for himself. He has been a hardworking and consistent performer for the Blues in every competition he has played in. The 25-year-old joined the club’s development side in 2019 and even won the BFC ‘B’ Player of the Year award.

He had 17 goal contributions which included nine goals and eight assists for BFC ‘B’ despite playing as a left-back. Parag then made his senior team debut in the AFC Cup against Paro FC followed by his ISL debut against Jamshedpur. He was one of the many bright sparks for the Blues in their title-winning campaign.

Last season, Shrivas was one of the regular players for the Blues in the ISL. He played 838 minutes of football in 14 games, despite an elbow injury.

He has played over 50 games for Bengaluru FC ever since coming through to the senior team in 2019 and has given a good account of himself.

Type of player

Parag belongs to a rare group of players who can operate exceptionally well in multiple positions. He can play on either flank as a full-back and can also operate as a left winger and a striker, if needed.

His position on the pitch has never restricted his natural goalscoring instincts. He can contribute in every possible way on the pitch. Be it creating, scoring, or assisting, Parag can do it all.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and possesses a never-say-die attitude. Shrivas is excellent in the air and is second to none in winning aerial as well ground duels. He is one of the most hard-working players on the pitch and gives it all for his team.

Bengaluru FC’s off-season movements

The Blues have made a big change ahead of the 2022-23 season. They have roped in Englishman Simon Grayson as their head coach. They’ve also roped in Javi Hernandez from Odisha FC. Moreover, star boy Naorem Roshan Singh has recently signed a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.
