Under the leadership of Khalid Jamil, the club are continuing with their plans for next season.

As revealed by Khel Now earlier today, Sreekuttan VS is set to sign for Jamshedpur FC, but the news for Jamshedpur FC fans doesn’t end there. We can also reveal that the club are set to extend the contracts of two key players from Khalid Jamil‘s squad last season, Japanese midfielder Rei Tachikawa and Indian international Seiminlen Doungel for the ISL 2024-25 season.

“Jamshedpur FC have started contract extension talks with important players alongside approaching new players like Sreekuttan VS. Both Rei Tachikawa and Seiminlen Doungel have agreed to new deals with the club and paperwork will be done in the upcoming days,” a source tracking Jamshedpur FC’s transfer business told Khel Now.

Key players for Jamshedpur FC

Khalid Jamil has always preferred players like Rei Tachikawa, who provide consistent energy on the football pitch. The Japanese midfielder will play an important role in the rebuilding of Jamshedpur FC under Jamil. He played 22 matches last season in the ISL, scoring five goals, creating 25 big chances, maintaining 81% passing accuracy and making 83 recoveries in midfield.

On the other hand, two-time ISL Shield winner Seiminlen Doungel will continue to be a valuable asset upfront, capable of playing in any position in the forward line. The 30-year-old Manipuri winger has already made 209 appearances in Indian football, scoring 25 goals and providing seven assists. Out of these 209 appearances, he played 65 matches for Jamshedpur FC, the most among the nine clubs he has represented in the ISL and I-League.

Khalid Jamil will hope that Len Doungel not only contributes on the pitch but also off it, using his experience to guide the young team through tough challenges.

Preparing for busy season

With the busiest-ever Indian football calendar ahead, the club are slated to play in the Durand Cup, the Indian Super League and the Super Cup. The club’s pre-season camp is tentatively expected to begin in July. With Sreekuttan VS signing from Gokulam Kerala and now two important players, Rei Tachikawa and Seiminlen Doungel, signing contract extensions, Jamshedpur FC’s preparations for the next season are on the right track.
