The 27-year-old was one of the goal scorers for the Les Bleus.

The France national football team locked horns with the Morocco national football team in their quarterfinal at the FIFA World Cup 2026. The high-stakes contest took place at the Boston Stadium in the USA.

The contest started with the Didier Deschamps-led side controlling the tempo. They made multiple attempts at the goal in the first half but failed to score. With their heavy attacking approach, they kept the Moroccan defence on the edge at all times.

The Atlas Lions did not look good in the final third. They only had one attempt on target in the first half and it surely cost them the game later. The French national football team made full use of the situation. Kylian Mbappe failed to convert a spot kick in the 28th minute, but later scored a goal for his side in the second half. Ousmane Dembele doubled the lead and helped Les Bleus secure a 2-0 victory.

Kylian Mbappe injury

The 27-year-old opened the scoring for the France national football team in the 60th minute and in the 77th minute, he was down on the ground after a tackle by a Moroccan player. Things did not look good at the moment for Kylian Mbappe and Desire Deschamps decided to sub him off.

The star forward was spotted with an ice pack on his ankle, but as soon as the match got over, Mbappe was spotted running.

The injury might not be serious and it is most likely a precaution taken by France’s head coach as they have now secured a spot in the FIFA World Cup semifinals.

Kylian Mbappe is battling it out against Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot.
