Real Madrid president Florentino Perez slaps huge £670m asking price on Luka Modric
Croatian and Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic had earlier shared a deleted Instagram story with the midfielder titled "Deal is done."
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has come up with a statement that would definitely break Inter fans' hearts. "The only possibility that Modric leaves are by paying £670m," Perez told reporters when asked about the move.
Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Croatian captain Luka Modric, who had a stellar World Cup run winning the Golden Ball. Perez claims that the Italian giants can have their man only if they meet his release clause- which seems very unlikely at the moment.
Modric who is enjoying his post-World Cup vacation has his contract tied up with Real Madrid until 2020 and the latest claims made by Perez have certainly left Inter high and dry. The Nerazzurri are now on the verge of returning empty handed as they have also lost the quest to secure Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich. The Chilean is on the verge of joining Barcelona.
Apart from all the claims made by Perez, Gazzetta Dello Sport understands that the Croatian midfielder will hold a meeting with the Real Madrid president regarding a potential move out of the Spanish capital. The 32-year-old midfielder reportedly wants a new challenge in his career and will look to try and convince Perez to consider interest from the Italian giants.

The Italian newspaper also understands that Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is lining up alternatives for the Real Madrid man, if things don't go to plan. Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan has emerged as a potential alternative, but things are still in the initial stage in that one. So, only time will tell where the Croatian midfielder ends up at the end of the transfer window.
