Confirmed! - Denis Suarez wants to leave FC Barcelona
The midfielder has struggled to find adequate playing time for the Spanish champions.
Denis Suarez, while speaking to El Larguero, has confirmed that he wishes to leave FC Barcelona amid uncertainty over his future. The central-midfielder spent the latter part of the 2018-19 season at Arsenal in the Premier League after being loaned out in the January transfer window and has now returned to the Spanish giants after his loan move came to a conclusion.
However, injuries marred his chances and he only featured six times for the London outfit across all competitions. Therefore, lack of first-team opportunities at Barca have compelled the former Villareal player to express a desire to leave his current employers.
"What I want is to leave Barca and play," Suarez told El Larguero. The 25-year-old is unlikely to return to England as he has also spoken about wanting to play in Spain. Speaking in that context, Suarez said, "My goal is to stay in the Spanish league. I have been in Barcelona for two months recovering from the injury and nobody from Barca has told me anything."
Among various Spanish La Liga clubs, Valencia CF are favorites to land the former Manchester City youth player and have also shown an interest in acquiring his services. Same was confirmed back in May by Valencia’s general director, Mateu Alemany, when he said, “Our obligation is to be in the market, that list can be very long and Denis Suarez would be one of them.”

The former Celta Vigo playmaker responded to the reports linking him to a move at Valencia by saying, “It's not true that I rejected Valencia. Valencia have never shown any interest in signing me as they are doing now.”
If Denis Suarez secures a move to Valencia, then it will also mark a reunion with the gaffer, Marcelino García Toral, who was at the helm of Villareal when Suarez was part of The Yellow Submarine back in 2015-16. "Marcelino is the best coach I've ever had. I speak regularly with him," Suarez said.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]It has been learnt that several other La Liga clubs are also lining a move for the Spaniard, who will cost around €20 million, and Barca are unwilling to go any lesser for the player, who is contracted till 2021 at the club. Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo are the other interested parties who have shown an interest in adding Denis Suarez to their rosters.
However, a move to Valencia would make sense for both the club and the player at this point of time, as it seems unlikely Suarez will get adequate first-team football opportunities for the Blaugrana.
