Lech Poznań will now face Sunderland AFC in their third league-phase outing of the UEFA Europa League 2026-27 campaign. The Municipal Stadium-Poznan is all set to witness this interesting outing.
The Polish professional club are on an underwhelming run of form in the European competition. They have lost both of their first two matches and are going to be under pressure for their next one. Lech Poznan will be looking to come up with a different approach this time around.
Being at home is surely going to help them out, but it is not going to be an easy outing for them. The Niels Frederiksen-led team must avoid giving the ball away to their opponents, or it might become a third loss in a row for them in the European competition this season.
The Black Cats have secured positive outcomes from their first two games in the UEFA Europa League this season. They first secured a 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar and then outplayed Torreense to bag a 2-1 victory. Régis Le Bris’ men will now be looking to make it three wins in a row, but their 0-2 loss against Bournemouth might affect their momentum.
Players to Watch
Pablo Rodríguez (Lech Poznań)
Pablo Rodríguez delivered a top performance for Lech Poznan in their recent league outing. He scored a sensational brace and bagged three assists. It was a dominant performance by him, and he will once again look to step up his game. The 25-year-old will play an important role in the midfield and is also very capable of scoring goals.
Granit Xhaka (Sunderland)
The 34-year-old is going to be one of the main men in the squad for Sunderland. The skipper will be looking to establish strong control in the midfield and is very capable of sharp long passes. He can also manage to break up the plays created by the opponents. Granit Xhaka will be a constant threat for the rivals with the ball at his feet.
