The Brazilian midfielder joined AC Milan in the January transfer window last season.

The Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain, are interested in AC Milan’s Brazilian attacking midfielder, Lucas Paqueta. The Parisiens have initiated the conversation with Milan regarding his move to Paris.

Paqueta joined Milan in the January transfer window last season from Brazilian outfit Flamengo for a transfer fee around €38m. Now according to reports from Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have set a price tag of around €35m for the 22-year old, as they are reluctant to let the Brazilian midfielder leave this season.

PSG sporting director, Leonardo Araujo is reportedly a big admirer of the Brazilian youngster and from there this interest has ignited for the Parisiens to land Paqueta this season. However, they have to meet AC Milan’s price tag as the Italian outfit want to cut their losses to a minimum if he leaves for Paris.

Paqueta has featured 30 times for AC Milan and has struggled with life in Italy, as he could only muster one goal and three assists in this short period of time. However, he still young and needs time to settle in, especially this being his first season in Europe.

The 22-year old may have fallen off the radar now but once he was in Brazil, he made a lot of noise at Flamengo and a horde of top European teams were interested in the flamboyant midfielder who was often drawn in comparison with Brazilian legendary midfielder Ricardo Kaka. Mainly because of his skills with the ball and ability to find the correct pass in the final third.

Despite all the disappointments in Milan’s red and black, Paqueta has stood out for the national team. He has impressed Tite and in 11 appearances. He has scored twice and also got an assist in his last match against South Korea.

According to reports, Leonardo wants a natural playmaker and ball progressor at the French capital and Paqueta suits the bill perfectly. While summer signing Pablo Sarabia has been a huge hit for PSG as the Spaniard has been involved in nine goals but has predominantly played on the flanks.

So it remains to be seen whether he will see Lucas Paqueta joining PSG in January or in the summer next season but Thomas Tuchel will be spoiled for choice as he already has a very packed squad.
