The previous outing between these nations ended in favour of the Red Dragons.

Led by Michael Carrick, Manchester United are all set to begin their preparations for the 2026-27 season. They will now go up against Wrexham AFC in a club friendly fixture, which is scheduled to take place at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.

The Red Devils will now be back in action after finishing third during their English Premier League 2025-26 campaign. They also secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League and have already made two important signings to strengthen their squad.

They haven’t faced a defeat in their last six matches and will be eager to continue their form. Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim as the head coach of Manchester United in January 2026 and since then, they have been a much more organised team on the pitch. They will now be pushing for a win in their upcoming friendly contest.

On the other hand, the Red Dragons finished seventh in the EFL Championship. They had a decent 2025-26 season. This time around, they will be pushing for promotion to the English top division.

Wrexham AFC recently played a club friendly contest against one of the most successful Polish football clubs, Wisla Krakow. They were held to a goalless draw and haven’t enjoyed a win in their last three games. Even though it will be a friendly against Man United, they are going to face a tough contest out there.

  • Location: Helsinki, Finland
  • Stadium: Helsinki Olympic Stadium
  • Date: Saturday, July 18
  • Kick-off Time: 08:30 PM IST/ 03:00 PM GMT/ 11:00 AM ET/ 08:00 AM PT

Players to Watch

The 26-year-old was and still remains one of the crucial signings for Manchester United last season. In his debut season with the Red Devils, Bryan Mbeumo scored 11 goals and three assists in the English Premier League. He can play on the right flank and can be deployed as a sole striker in the attacking front, keeping the opponent’s defence on edge.

Kieffer Moore (Wrexham)

Kieffer Moore was one of the main men in the attacking front for Wrexham AFC during their 2025-26 campaign. He managed 15 goal contributions for his side in the EFL Championship. Alongside Sam Smith, Moore can be a big threat to Man United’s defence. It will be interesting to see how Phil Parkinson is going to deploy his main striker.

Match Prediction

Manchester United are expected to come without many of their regular faces in the squad. Wrexham will be looking to take advantage of this, but with an expert strategy by Michael Carrick, it will be a tough day for the Red Dragons.
