Ghana had to make changes early in the round-of-32 game.

The crowd cheered when the Ghana players entered the pitch as the Black Stars made their way onto the ground. However, things didn’t go their way when the match began. They suffered an injury setback early in the game.

Both Colombia and Ghana had to make changes after injuries to their respective players during the first half of their World Cup round of 32 match.

Colombian forward Jhon Córdoba was the first player to sustain an injury. He pulled up in the first few minutes of the game while chasing a Ghanaian player. He instantly grasped his leg.

Ghana suffer major injury blow during the game

Ghana did not take long to face a similar destiny. In the 13th minute, the Black Stars were forced to replace right-back Marvin Senaya due to an injury of his own.

Alidu Seidu was called in to replace Senaya, leaving both sides with four remaining replacements in regulation on a scorching day at Kansas City Stadium.

Ghana were dealt a blow in their FIFA World Cup 2026 round of 32 game against Colombia. One of their key players suffered an injury and was taken off in the midst of the match.

The team physicians have yet to publicly share any more medical information on the severity of his injury. It will only be confirmed after the game what injury the full-back has sustained.
