MESSI CUP 2026: List of teams participating in youth competition

Many top youth sides will be competing in the cup.
Messi Cup is a friendly international football tournament for young players. In order to help young players improve, it brings together academies from several well-known clubs. The event is named after Lionel Messi, an Argentine football player.
There were eight teams last time. But this time, 16 youth clubs will participate from around the world, split into two groups. Every team has to play at least three games against other teams in the same group. The top two teams from each group move on to the semifinals, which are the knockout stage.
The winner will be decided there. On the last day, both the final and the third-place game are played at Chase Stadium. There are two 40-minute halves in each game.
This year’s tournament, which will be held at the club’s state-of-the-art facilities in Fort Lauderdale (Inter Miami CF Stadium and Florida Blue Training Centre), will have twice as many teams as last year (16 instead of 8).
This will make the competition even more of a global stage. Some of the world’s best young players will play against top academies from around the world.
The second edition of the MESSI CUP will take place from October 25 to November 1. It will include 16 of the best youth football schools in the world.
Fans from all over the world can watch the MESSI CUP on Disney+, ESPN+, and ESPN, though the stations may not be available in all areas.
