Arteta has extended his stay in North London.
Mikel Arteta has penned a new long-term contract with Arsenal, extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium until June 2030.
The Spaniard has enjoyed immense success at the helm of the English club, having led them to the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League final last season. This marked the club’s fourth Premier League title and their first in 22 years.
Having joined in 2019 and won the FA Cup in his very first season in charge, Arteta has already established himself as one of the best young managers in Europe. The Gunners currently sit in second place in the league table, three points behind Manchester City.
Arteta is just the eighth manager in the Gunners’ history to win an English league title, following in the footsteps of the great Arsene Wenger. As a result, the North London club have quickly tied him down to a long-term contract.

The Spaniard himself expressed his happiness at extending his contract and continuing to build a successful career with the Gunners.
“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” Arteta said. “This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.”
“We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime, and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together…,” he continued. “This is such a proud moment for me and my family. I feel the love and respect from our fantastic supporters, and they have mine – and ours – in return.”
According to media reports, the Gunners are also looking to secure the futures of Arteta’s coaching staff during the international break. According to a report from the Daily Cannon, Andrea Berta has been leading negotiations with set-piece coach Nicolas Jover over a contract extension.
