The 33-year-old only played six games for Les Rouge et Blanc during the 2025-26 season.
Paul Pogba initially received a four-year doping ban in February 2024, which was later reduced to 18 months. He made a return in March 2025 and joined the Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
Pogba is considered one of the top midfielders of the current generation. The Frenchman has clinched the FIFA World Cup in 2018 with France, the UEFA Europa League with Manchester United, the Serie A title with Juventus and many more.
A player of his calibre deserved a better second half, but over the last year he has failed to find the football fitness required to play at the top level. Paul Pogba has now left the Ligue 1 side AS Monaco by mutual agreement. He has only made six appearances for the club since joining them in 2025.
Pogba has now sustained a hamstring injury at St. George’s Park. He was training with the Monaco squad during the club’s pre-season tour of England. This fresh injury is likely to keep him out of action for several months. With the 33-year-old mutually terminating his contract with the Ligue 1 side, there’s a big chance that he might go on to join a Major League Soccer (MLS) club.
