For matchweek 3 of the English Premier League 2026-27 edition, Newcastle United will now square off against AFC Bournemouth in what is going to be an intense outing. This clash is going to take place at St. James’ Park in Newcastle-upon-tyne, England.
Matthias Jaissle’s campaign with the Magpies has kicked off on a positive note. They were held to a 2-2 draw in their opening league game by Liverpool. Newcastle United then went on to secure consecutive wins in their last two matches. They first took down West Brom in the Carabao Cup and then outplayed Tottenham Hotspur in the English top division. Players in the club are looking happy with the tactics deployed by new manager, Jaissle. They will now be eager to make it three wins in a row.
On the other hand, the Cherries have somehow struggled with their start to the Premier League 2026-27 campaign. In their opening game of the new season, they fell prey to Manchester City. It surely was a close contest, but Bournemouth’s performance was poor in the backline as they conceded two late goals.
It was a similar story against Everton. Even though the Marco Rose-led side avoided defeat, they were only able to secure a draw after conceding a late goal against the Cherries.
