The lad from Bandel started playing football actively at school level. After impressing with local sides Milan Samity and George Telegraph in the Calcutta Football League, Biswajit Saha drew offers from Kolkata's big clubs. The young left back however opted for the green and maroon brigade since his family are traditional supporters of Mohun Bagan. At the Mariner's set-up, the Roberto Carlos, Patrice Evra and Deepak Mandal fan met his favourite mentor in Karim Bencherifa and followed him to Salgaocar and then back to Mohun Bagan one season later. Although Saha won the Kolkata league with Mohun Bagan in 2009, the no nonsense defender had a more successful outing in Goa as he was part of Salgaocar's Federation Cup and I-League triumphs in 2011.
