Several big names missed out on La Roja’s squad.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente named a 27-player squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League 2026-27 group matches against Czechia and England.
La Roja will take on Czechia at Stadion Letná in Prague on November 12. The next match will be against England at the Metropolitano Stadium on November 15.
Despite the FIFA World Cup 2026 champions having already secured a place in the Nations League quarter-finals, De la Fuente has named a strong squad for the two final group games. Jacobo Roman is a new addition, with the Como centre-back earning his maiden call-up.
However, several big names have either been dropped or not called up. This includes three players from Barcelona. Some deserving players will feel hard done by after not earning a place in the latest squad.

Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
| Sl No. | Player | Club |
| 1 | Dani Olmo | Barcelona |
| 2 | Rodri | Barcelona |
| 3 | Luis Milla | Como |
| 4 | Victor Munoz | Liverpool |
| 5 | Isco | Real Betis |
5. Dani Olmo

Dani Olmo suffered a left adductor muscle injury following a collision during Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. The Catalan side confirmed that the 28-year-old is expected to be out for nearly a month. As a result, he was not part of the Spanish squad.
De la Fuente will miss his creativity. Olmo has registered four assists in 12 matches across all competitions for his club.
4. Rodri

The second Barcelona player to miss out on the international squad due to injury, Rodri suffered a minor injury to his right hamstring during the Champions League match against Aston Villa. The midfielder was substituted at half-time against the Villans.
Subsequent scans confirmed that he would be out for almost a month. Along with Olmo and Rodri, Eric Garcia is also dropped from the Spain squad due to injury.

3. Luis Milla
Como midfielder, Luis Milla has been one of the best performers in Europe, absolutely controlling the midfield for Cesc Fabregas’ high-flying side. He would have hoped that the injury crisis in midfield would have opened the door for him to earn his maiden call-up. But that hope has been dashed, with De la Fuente relying on Pablo Barrios, Mikel Merino, and Martin Zubimendi.
2. Victor Munoz

After a slow start to his Liverpool career, Victor Munoz has recently hit form. The winger scored the winner against Brentford, marking his second league goal for the Reds. He has quickly become an important player for Andoni Iraola.
But that has not been enough to convince De la Fuente, who instead called up Ander Barrenetxea.
1. Isco

Few players would be as disappointed to have missed out on the latest squad as Isco. Having last been called up by his country in May 2025, he would have been an outside shot if not for his exceptional performances this season.
The 34-year-old has been a player reborn for Real Betis, scoring four goals and registering two assists in 14 matches across all competitions. His best performances have come in the Champions League, where he has scored twice in four games.
Those two UCL goals were the winners against FC Porto and Feyenoord. He also set up the winner during the LaLiga clash against Malaga. Yet, none of this was enough for him to make an international comeback.
