Some players have enjoyed facing the Red Devils in the league.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has only appeared in a few Premier League games against Manchester United, but he has quickly established himself as one of their worst nightmares, having almost reached double figures in goals against them.

Nevertheless, where does the Norwegian striker stand among the Red Devils’ least favoured opponents? Over the decades, United have been tormented by several big names, with legends from Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle United making the top 10.

Here are the top ten Premier League goalscorers against Manchester United.

This list is filled with renowned Premier League goalscorers. Pascal Groß has been an excellent servant at Brighton for seven years, but his name stands out as quite surprising, as the German is among the players to score a healthy number of goals against the Red Devils.

The versatile midfielder collected a total of 30 Premier League goals, with seven of them coming against United. A thorn in their side.

9. Phil Foden: 7 goals

Phil Foden, who enters this list ahead of Big Duncan Ferguson due to fewer minutes played, has an amazing record of one goal per 120 minutes in Premier League games versus Manchester United. The English player has always been an impactful star against the neighbours.

Lives for the Derby.

8. Les Ferdinand: 8 goals

Youngsters nowadays may not recognise Sir Les as a Premier League legend, but only seven players have accumulated more non-penalty goals. Ferdinand scored eight of his 159 Premier League goals against Manchester United. Few of them are as remarkable as the header he scored in Newcastle United‘s historic 5-0 triumph in 1996.

7. Robbie Fowler: 8 goals

Fowler encountered Manchester United while playing for Liverpool, Leeds United, and Manchester City. Talk about needles. He did not score for Leeds against them, but he did score twice for City and six for Liverpool. No surprise he was referred to as ‘God’ on Merseyside. At least the red part.

However, the opening goal was without a doubt the greatest of the eight. A 20-year-old with bleached blonde highlights left it beyond Peter Schmeichel’s grasp.

6. Thierry Henry: 8 goals

During Thierry Henry‘s prime, the Premier League matchup was Manchester United against Arsenal. Few athletes have enjoyed the moment as much as Thierry Henry has. There are 14 games. Eight goals. Four assists. Surprisingly, though, only three people prevail. That only serves to highlight how different United were under Sir Alex Ferguson.

5. Steven Gerrard: 8 goals

Liverpool’s great skipper faced his former rival 30 times in the Premier League and scored eight goals. Few goals against Manchester United have generated as memorable images as Steven Gerrard kissing the camera lens at Old Trafford.

4. Sergio Aguero: 8 goals

“I always love to score, but of course it is even more special to score in the big games,” the Argentinian told Sky Sports back in 2015.

“If you score against United at Old Trafford it almost gives you shivers, because you can feel the tense atmosphere with most of the stadium being really quiet, but the away end going crazy.”

“At home at it is different, when the City supporters are really loud in these games, it sometimes gives me goosebumps when they sing my name.”

However, his most iconic goal will be the winner against Queens Park Rangers to hand City the title.

3. Erling Haaland: 9 goals

The Norwegian has unbelievable stats. Despite only joining the Premier League three years ago, he has risen to third place on this list. In his first Manchester derby, he scored a hat-trick, and he hasn’t stopped since. In the Premier League, Haaland scores a goal against Manchester United every 67 minutes on average. Of all the players on this list, that is by far the most prolific return.

2. Alan Shearer: 10 goals

The Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer falls short of the top spot on this list. Remarkably, Shearer scored ten goals in the Premier League against Manchester United without using a penalty kick. Moreover, all his goals came in a Newcastle shirt as he spent the majority of his playing career at the Magpies.

1. Mohamed Salah: 13 goals

In the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, the Egyptian King, the third true Liverpool icon in this top 10, has often caused Manchester United to suffer.

Mohamed Salah was wreaking havoc in every game against Manchester United during his time at Liverpool. He was additionally a regular goalscorer, who would often find the back of the net against the Red side of Manchester.
