Sergio Aguero has finally put an end to the uncertainty regarding his future with by signing a new contract at Manchester City, tying him down with the Premier League champions until 2021.
Earlier it was rumoured that the Argentine striker would return to boyhood club Independiente after this year's World Cup or in 2019. Earlier upon the arrival of Pep Guardiola, problems arose, as both of them had issues with each other and the Spanish gaffer preferred Gabriel Jesus over Aguero. But slowly, the striker improved his performances and became the favoured man upfront, again.

After signing the new deal, Aguero said, "I am happy for this additional year. My idea was being here for 10 years. I’ve been here for seven years, it’s going to be 10 when the contract expires. This was the main reason I signed. I’m very happy because they have treated mee very well since the first day I got here.
I’m very happy with everything that involves the club, my teammates, the staff and the management team. It's true that we've got a lot of young talent, that in the future can make the difference. At the same time the youngsters are quite developed already, like Leroy [Sane], Raheem [Sterling], Bernardo [Silva] and Gabriel [Jesus]."
