The Reds will hope to get their hands on the league title in the upcoming season.

Liverpool FC is one of the strongest teams in world football at the moment. Under Jurgen Klopp, the Premier League outfit reached the final stages in competitions last year and came away with two trophies - the FA Cup and the League Cup. Their squad has incredible balance and good depth, making them a difficult team to win against.

Furthermore, LFC has already won the 2022-23 FA Community Shield beating Manchester City. The outfit has made some key signings in the summer transfer window to keep their squad in good shape to have another successful season. Sadio Mane has departed for German shores but the arrival of Darwin Nunez has given the fans a lot to look forward to.

Here is a look at Liverpool’s possible lineup for the 2022-23 season.

GK - Alisson

Alisson will take his place under the bar. He has transformed the Liverpool team since his arrival in 2018 from AS Roma. The custodian kept 20 clean sheets in 35 league appearances last season. He is a vital figure for the Reds and will be a regular starter without a doubt.

RB - Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold is regarded as one of the best right-backs in the world today. The English international is exceptional with his crosses and attacking contributions. He was on the scoresheet against Man City in the Community Shield clash as well. The 23-year-old will be one of the first names in the lineup.

CB - Ibrahima Konate

Ibrahima Konate arrived at the club last season from RB Leipzig. The centre-back fits into the system seamlessly and won two trophies in his debut campaign. He will surely keep his place in the heart of the defence and hope to guide the Reds to the Premier League and UEFA Champions League glory. The 23-year-old will face competition from the likes of Joel Matip for a starting place.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is a fundamental part of everything Liverpool does. His leadership in defence is one of the reasons why it's difficult to score against the Reds. The 31-year-old has won six trophies with the club and will aim to guide it to more silverware. He is an integral part of the squad and one of the first names on the starting XI.

LB - Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson will certainly keep his position on the left side of the defence. He along with Trent Alexander-Arnold is a constant nuisance for any opposition. The full-back loves to drive forward and contribute in the final third. He has played 224 games for the Reds and will be a regular starter in the forthcoming season. His coordination with Trent makes him even more dangerous as both full-backs love to combine with cross-field passes.

CDM - Fabinho

Fabinho is the anchor in the heart of Liverpool's midfield and does all the dirty but effective work efficiently. The Brazillian does an exceptional job in protecting the defence, closing down passing lines and initiating counter-attacks. He reads the game well and recovers the ball with ease. Furthermore, Fabinho’s accuracy from range makes him a threat in the final third as well.

CM - Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson is the secret to Liverpool’s consistent performances on the pitch. The skipper keeps communicating with his players, directing them every move. He is himself an extremely hard-working player who contributes in both attack and defence. The English international has won every possible trophy with LFC and will be a starter in the lineup.

CM - Thiago

If injuries do not restrict Thiago, he is surely one of the first picks in the starting lineup. The Spaniard is an orchestrator and loves to get on the ball as much as possible. His distribution is elite and keeps the opposition on their toes. Jurgen Klopp trusts Thiago and his vision above all because he feeds the attacking wingers with delicious, penetrative passes. He is the key to creating scoring chances for Liverpool.

RW - Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world and is unplayable on many days. He signed an extension at the club until 2025 and will be one of the regular starters without a doubt. The Egyptian won the golden boot in the Premier League by scoring 23 goals last season. In terms of numbers across all competitions, Salah managed 31 goals and 16 assists in 51 outings for the club.

LW - Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz has been one of the best performers in the team since joining FC Porto in the winter transfer window earlier in 2022. He already has three trophies with LFC and will certainly hope to win the major ones - the PL and the UCL this year. With Sadio Mane signing for FC Bayern Munich, Diaz will be a regular starter in the left-wing role. However, he will face some stiff competition from Diogo Jota.

ST - Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez is a new arrival at the club. The striker joins from SL Benfica for €75m. He is one of the most promising strikers in Europe and will most likely start ahead of Roberto Firmino as he settles into new surroundings. The 23-year-old has huge expectations on his shoulder but will back himself to continue his goalscoring form from last season. He managed 34 goals and four assists in 41 overall appearances last term.
