The Brazilain leaving the Ligue 1 champions has helped them revive relationship with Kylian Mbappe

This summer’s transfer season saw Paris Saint-Germain make a risky decision that put an end to the Neymar Jr. narrative. Many people initially believed Kylian Mbappé was going, but it was actually the Brazilian.

After PSG and Al-Hilal reached an agreement to transfer the 31-year-old for €90 million, Neymar departed the French club. The Ligue 1 giants are happy to get the transfer cash, but it’s not the only thing they gain from the trade.

According to The Athletic, Neymar’s transfer to Al-Hilal has resolved a few issues at PSG, among them which is the need for financial savings.

The French club saved €100 million during the final four years of the agreement by releasing the 2015 UEFA Champions League victor.

The Parisians were able to mend their connection with Mbappé’s entourage thanks in part to Neymar’s departure. Both parties now seem amicable after the Frenchman failed to take part in the initial team through the summer trip and warnings to bench him for the entire 2023–24 season.

Finally, the purchase of the previous FC Barcelona player enables PSG to move forward with its chases of Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani. It is yet unclear if they will be able to sign such guys.

Neymar’s repeated injuries and low return on investment, given his huge pay, made it evident that PSG had to let him go. As a result, in this essential change, both sides received what they desired.

Despite having 118 goals for PSG, Neymar has endured an uphill battle with the team’s supporters in recent years. This relationship reached a breaking point earlier this year after the ultras staged a demonstration outside his house. Together with Marco Verratti, he was instructed to look for a new team this summer.

Neymar will follow a long list of other world-renowned players who went to Saudi Arabia this summer. He will team up alongside Malcom, Ruben Neves, and Kalidou Koulibaly at Al-Hilal.
